"SAFETY INSPECTION HEADS UP!"
Drapes, lights, scenery, props and all kinds of things hang over the head of each actor and technician on your stage. Is it safe? A pipe batten 42' long weighs over 100 pounds. When scenery, drapery or lighting is added to that pipe, the amount of weight suspended above the stage can increase dramatically.
Theatrical rigging is the equipment which supports all those things suspended above the actors and technicians. Often, this equipment is installed when the building is constructed and is neither inspected nor serviced after that time...until something falls down. Imagine just a bare pipe batten weighing more than 100 pounds falling during a rehearsal or performance. The catastrophe could be enormous.
LVH Entertainment Systems offers inspection services of theatrical rigging.
Our rigging specialists have more than forty years of experience designing and installing deadhung rigging, pipe grids, counterweight systems, and motorized theatrical rigging systems, tracks and drapes.
We also have extensive production experience which allows us to evaluate the safety conditions of your facility in practical terms that reflect the reality of every-day production life on the stage. We provide a written report that identifies safe and unsafe conditions, make recommendations for repair or replacement of equipment, including a budget, and suggest adjustments to operational procedures, where appropriate. Make a safety inspection a new year's resolution that you keep. Call us at 888-313-2033 to schedule your rigging inspection...and have a safe 2002.
LOBERO THEATRE PHASE ONE UPGRADE
Project completed on time and under budget!
The Phase One upgrade of the stage dimming system at the historic Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara was completed in time for the grand opening performance of The Dave Brubeck Quartet. As part of the design/build services performed for the stage house remodel, LVH installed four Strand CD80 dimmer racks, the distribution system and a Unison Architectural Control system.
"LVH was on time," said Todd Jared, Technical Director for the Lobero, "and under budget!"
At the same time, LVH under contract with Frank Schipper Construction Co. completed the Lobero and the remodel of the Santa Barbara City College black box theatre.
